Naureen Adam, M.D. comes to Alliance Spine and Pain Centers directly from her fellowship at the prestigious Pain Medicine Program at Emory University. Dr. Adam also completed her Anesthesiology residency at Emory and worked as a staff anesthesiologist at Paces Anesthesia Associates prior to completing her education in Pain Management. She obtained her Medical Degree at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Adam served as Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology at Emory University from 2004-2005.

Dr. Adam is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Adam has spent most of her professional career in the Atlanta area and is very familiar with the medical needs of its population.

Dr. Adam lives with her husband Dr. Mohammad Wehbi, in Atlanta. Alliance Spine and Pain Center is excited to have Dr. Adam as our colleague!

Dr. Shahnaz Bari, M.D. is Board-Certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Internal Medicine, and is a licensed physician in the state of Georgia. Dr. Bari specializes in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. Her extensive medical training and certifications make her uniquely qualified to provide a comprehensive medical perspective to each of her patients. With 31 years of experience, Dr. Bari brings a wealth of knowledge to the field of interventional pain.

Dr. Bari is a graduate of the Sind Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, where she received honors in both academics and sports. She completed General Surgery and Internal Medicine internships at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center in Pakistan, and an internship in Genitourinary Surgery at Dow Medical College in Pakistan. Dr. Bari completed her Residency in Anesthesiology at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and her Residency in Internal Medicine at Prince George’s Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland,. She also obtained subspecialty training in Cardiac Anesthesia at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Dr. Bari participated in a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of California, Sacramento, and a Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

Prior to joining Alliance Spine and Pain Centers in 2015, Dr. Bari was CEO of Augusta’s Southeast Pain Management for almost ten years.. She also served as attending Physician at NeXus Pain Center of Augusta and Director of Pain Management at Charlie Norwood VA Hospital. She has also served as an Anesthesiologist at the Endoscopy Center in Augusta, and held Staff Anesthesiology positions at Doctor’s Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Bari was recognized with Department appointments as Assistant Professor and Chief of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at the Medical College of Georgia, and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Emory Health Care.

S. Christopher Cable, M.D.

Dr. Christopher Cable is a board certified, fellowship trained Anesthesiologist who specializes in treating a variety of chronic pain conditions. He has extensive experience in treating degenerative conditions of the spine, multiple arthritic conditions, cancer pain, neurologic pain syndromes, and other chronic pain disorders. His comprehensive approach to managing pain incorporates nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedures, medical management, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.

Dr. Cable is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), where he received a degree in Molecular Genetics and Biology. He studied medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, graduating in 1998. After medical school, he completed his Anesthesiology residency at Emory University in Atlanta. He was elected Chief Resident by his peers and served on multiple administrative committees. Furthering his training after residency, he was accepted into the Interventional Pain Management Fellowship program at Emory University, where he studied cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of chronic pain syndromes in both hospitalized and ambulatory patients.

From 2004 to 2008, Dr. Cable was in private practice at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. As a staff physician and Director of the Acute Pain Service, he specialized full time in treating acute and chronic pain syndromes in both inpatient and outpatient settings. His primary area of practice concentrated on treating chronic neck and back pain. In 2008, Dr. Cable formed his own private practice, Atlanta Pain and Spine Physicians (APS) where he practiced successfully for 6 years. Recognizing the opportunity to expand his ability to reach more patients throughout Alliance Spine and Pain Centers’ wide metro-Atlanta reach, Dr. Cable joined Alliance in 2014. Dr. Cable is board certified by the American Society of Anesthesiologists in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is a member of the International Spinal Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

A Board Certified Anesthesiologist since 1995, Dr. Jaimini Davé joined Cobb Anesthesia 1995. Dr. Davé obtained his medical degree and was Board Certified in Anesthesiology. He was an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology @ Medical College, Baroda, India, before moving to the USA. He was awarded a Gold Medal for the Best Performing candidate by Gujarat University in 1982. After moving to the USA, Dr. Davé completed residency training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey, where he was the Chief Resident during his final year. He was also awarded a “Robert Drips” award for the Best Graduating Resident in 1994.

After joining Cobb Anesthesia in 1995 he was involved in the new pain service in 1999-2000 and then was involved full time with the pain practice. He is well trained in acute, chronic and cancer pain management, including epidural steroid injections; radiofrequency rhizotomies; stellate ganglion bocks; spinal cord stimulation and implants; discograms; Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty for spinal compression fractures and Intrathecal therapy for cancer pains. He also sees patients for chronic opioid management.

Dr. Davé is an avid tennis player, enjoys spending time with his family and enjoys music in his spare time.


 

Andrea Elkon, Ph.D.

Dr ElkonDr. Andrea Elkon, Ph.D., is the Director of Behavioral Health for Alliance Spine and Pain Centers. She has been a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia for eleven years. Dr. Elkon specializes in Health Psychology and interventional pain management through an integrated mind/body approach.

Dr. Elkon completed her Masters and Doctoral degrees at the University of Virginia. She received additional specialized clinical training in Columbia, South Carolina at the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute, South Carolina Department of Mental Health, and University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Prior to joining Alliance Spine and Pain Centers, Dr. Elkon spent ten years working in public mental health at both the State and Federal levels.

Dr. Elkon holds particular expertise in psychological assessment and has conducted thousands of examinations for State and Federal Courts, the Veterans Benefits Administration, correctional facilities, and private medical practices. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Division 38 (Health Psychology) and the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Elkon will allow Alliance Spine and Pain Centers to broaden the scope of interventional pain management services offered to patients.

Ramon D. Espinal, M.D. comes to Alliance Spine and Pain Centers from private practice at East Georgia Pain Management in Covington, GA. Dr. Espinal has maintained a successful practice there serving Covington-area patients since 2005. He is excited to expand his care to Alliance Spine and Pain Centers’ patients around Georgia.

Dr. Espinal was born in the Dominican Republic where he completed his medical education at The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. He then moved to the United States and joined the US Army Medical Department as a Medical Specialist for 6 years. Dr. Espinal completed his post-graduate medical education at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He specialized in Anesthesiology during his internship and residency and following, Pain Management during his fellowship. He also served on the faculty at MCG from 2000-2004. Dr. Espinal even completed a second fellowship at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle in Regional Anesthesia.

Dr. Espinal began first seeing patients in private practice in 2004 at Newton Medical Center. He is very familiar with the needs of the patients of the east Atlanta corridor and is fluent in Spanish for those patients in need. Dr. Espinal’s patients consider him to be exceptionally caring and compassionate. Dr. Espinal lives nearby in Oxford, GA.


Eduardo Escorcia, M.D.

Dr. Escorcia is board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. He is an expert in the comprehensive treatment of low back pain and neck pain. While he was born in the United States, Dr. Escorcia was raised in Colombia, South America. He returned to pursue his medical training in the United States in order to be able to perform the most advanced treatments available. After completing his anesthesiology training at the University of Florida Shands Hospital, Dr. Escorcia spent over a decade in private practice at South Miami Hospital where he developed a special interest in helping people recover from chronic pain to resume their normal level of functioning.

Dr. Escorcia was then able to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at the University of Miami in 2011 where he developed his expertise in advanced pain management techniques such as radiofrequency ablations and spinal cord stimulation. After 2011, family ties brought him to the Atlanta area where he joined the team at Alliance Spine and Pain Centers. By combining advanced pain management techniques with treatment plans that address the functional goals of patients, Dr. Escorcia is able to produce the best possible results for patients.

Robin J. Fowler, M.D. has been a leading pain practitioner in the Atlanta area since 2005. Double Board certified by the American Society of Anesthesia in Anesthesiology and Pain Management, he has performed more than 12,000 epidurals and revolutionary pain procedures that have improved the quality of life for thousands of patients. He prides himself on keeping his practice up to date on the latest techniques and procedures that are medically available. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Fowler is also the founder of Interventional Management Services, LLC, a surgical center management company serving centers ranging from New Mexico to Florida.

Dr. Fowler was educated at Auburn University and received his doctorate and specialty training at Emory University. He obtained Board Certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2007 and following, Pain Medicine in 2008.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Fowler serves as a thought leader in Pain Management. He has been asked to speak at top medical universities, hospitals and community programs around the country, and is a speaker at several national ASC conferences. He has had over 30 speaking engagements and has served as an advisor for Pain Management to several Private Insurance Carriers. Dr. Fowler has been consistently named both a top physician and leader by the Becker’s Ambulatory Surgical Center Review since 2009.

Dr. Fowler is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the National Pain Foundation, the American Pain Society, the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesia, Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Beata Grochowska is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and licensed physician in the State of Georgia specializing in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. Dr. Grochowska’s fourteen years of medical experience have honed her expertise in non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Grochowska is a graduate of the Medical Academies of Bialystok and Lublin, Poland. After receiving her Medical Doctor degree in 1992, Dr. Grochowska completed an intern/residency program at Mokotow Hospital in Warsaw, Poland. After moving to the United States in 1995, she participated in additional internship studies at both Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory University Hospital, and has completed her residency in Anesthesia at Emory University Hospital.

Prior to joining Alliance Spine and Pain Centers in 2014, Dr. Grochowska held positions of Medical Director and Chief of Anesthesia Services at Perimeter Surgery Center, and Senior Partner at Ambulatory Anesthesia of Atlanta. She is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Ambulatory Anesthesia and the European Society of Anesthesiology.

Allen H. Hord, M.D. has been in medical practice in the Atlanta area for over 25 years. Dr. Hord completed a fellowship in interventional pain management in 1987, during an era when fellowship training was rare. This has allowed him to remain in the forefront of the specialty during its development. He was one of the first doctors in the United States to be Board Certified in Pain Medicine. Following 16 years of practice, research, and teaching in the specialty of pain management at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Hord has been in private practice in interventional pain management since 2004. He specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic pain using advanced interventional techniques. His background in research and teaching complements the clinical care his patients receive. Because of this, he has repeatedly been recognized by his peers as one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors and America’s Best Doctors.

Dr. Hord also has a wealth of administrative experience, having served 10 years as Director of the Division of Pain Medicine at Emory University and Program Director for the fellowship program there. He served on multiple committees within the university and with national organizations, including the Management Committee of the Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group of the International Association for the Study of Pain. He also served 10 years on the Board of Directors of Flying Doctors of America, a nonprofit corporation that provides medical care for indigent patients in countries around the world. Dr. Hord has organized medical missions to Southeast Asia and South America, and coordinated relief efforts in Haiti during the first 3 weeks after the earthquake.


Zwade Marshall, MD, MBA

Dr. Zwade Marshall is a Harvard-trained board certified anesthesiologist, and a fellowship trained interventional pain management specialist. With ten years of medical experience including several research and leadership roles, Dr. Marshall’s unique experiences give him a fresh perspective regarding chronic pain. He believes in a comprehensive approach to pain management centered on the patient’s functional goals.

Dr. Marshall joined Alliance in 2016 as an interventional pain specialist, and currently serves as Alliance’s Director of Medical Outcomes insuring measurable and meaningful outcomes for patients.

Dr. Marshall obtained a joint degree in Medicine and Business at Emory University. While at Emory he was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award for the school, recognizing his work in co-founding the Pipeline Program, a longitudinal inner-city high school mentoring program.

The recipient of numerous other academic and professional honors, Dr. Marshall completed his residency at Harvard University’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. While at Harvard, Dr Marshall published numerous articles, co-authored textbooks and presented at national conferences on a variety of pain medicine and anesthesiology topics. He served as Chief Resident in the Department of Anesthesiology during his residency.

Dr. Marshall’s clinical interests include back, facial, headache, abdominal, pelvic, and cancer pain, and neuro-modulation therapy.

Dr. Marshall is actively involved in philanthropic work in the Atlanta community.

Rhee W. Miller, M.D. received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Miller then completed an internship at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center and an anesthesia residency at Emory University Hospital.

Dr. Miller has over 10 years combined experience in the fields of Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain. Her resume includes serving as the vice president of Georgia Anesthesiology Consultants, LLC at Newton Medical Center from 2000-2006.

She holds diplomatic status with the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Miller is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiology, East Metro Medical Association, Georgia Society of Anesthesiology, the Greater Atlanta Society of Anesthesiology and the International Anesthesia Research Society.

Dr. Miller enjoys skiing, scuba diving, running and biking in her spare time. She has two children.

A board-certified Anesthesiologist since 2006, Dr. Preetesh Patel joined Alliance Spine and Pain Centers in 2010. Dr. Patel obtained his undergraduate degree at Emory University in 1997 and attended Mercer University School of Medicine, where he was awarded his M.D. in 2002. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland-affiliated Franklin Square Hospital and residency in Anesthesiology at Emory University. Dr. Patel completed a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of California, San Diego in 2009.

Prior to joining Alliance Spine and Pain Centers, Dr. Patel served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego. While at UCSD, Dr. Patel focused on General and Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perioperative Pain Management. He was also actively involved in resident and medical student education and lectured extensively on Epidural/Spinal Analgesia and Opioid Pharmacology.

Dr. Patel has expertise in a variety of minimally invasive therapies for the treatment of neck and lower back pain, including Epidural Steroid Injection, Selective Nerve Root Injection, Radiofrequency Ablation, Percutaneous Disc Decompression, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Sympathetic/Ganglion Blockade, and Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty for Osteoporotic Compression Fractures. He also has extensive experience with Intrathecal Therapy for the treatment of pain secondary to cancer.

Dr. Patel currently holds medical licenses in Maryland, California, and Georgia. Dr. Patel is an avid cyclist and golfer, and enjoys traveling in his free time.

A Board-certified Anesthesiologist since 1994, Dr. Rajesh Patel started Alliance Spine and Pain Center, formerly Comprehensive Pain Management in 1999 for Cobb Anesthesia. Dr. Patel obtained his Medical degree at Baroda Medical College in India, in 1983. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology in 1987. He taught Anesthesiology at Baroda Medical College for about a year. He moved to the US in 1989 and completed residency in Anesthesiology at University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey in 1993.

Prior to joining Cobb Anesthesia/Alliance Spine and Pain Center, Dr. Patel served as an Anesthesiologist at Thomas Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. He later started his own Pain Management Practice in West Virginia.

Dr. Patel has expertise in a variety of minimally invasive therapies for the treatment of neck and lower back, including Epidural Steroid Injection, Selective Nerve Root Injection, Radio Frequency Ablation, Percutaneous Disc Decompression, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Sympathetic/Ganglion Blockade and Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty for Osteoporotic Compression Fractures. Pickens A. Patterson, III, M.D. is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management Medicine. He has eight years of experience in practicing Interventional Pain Management in South Carolina and Georgia.

Prior to joining Alliance Spine and Pain Centers, Dr. Patterson formed Pain Management of the South, a successful interventional pain practice in College Park, GA. Previously, Dr. Patterson was in private practice in Stockbridge, GA, and also successfully launched and managed a satellite office in Griffin, GA.

In addition to his experience and skills in all interventional pain techniques including epidural injections, facet blocks, and sympathetic blocks, Dr. Patterson has a special interest in spinal cord stimulation for neuropathic pain and failed back surgery. Dr. Patterson stresses the importance of overall function, and frequently incorporates physical therapy and biofeedback/psychology into his patients’ individualized treatment plans. Dr. Patterson takes pride in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to every patient he treats.

Dr. Patterson attended the United States Naval Academy and received a Bachelors degree in biology from Hampton University. Afterwards, he graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1998. He later completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University where he was awarded “Best Bedside Manner” by the director of his fellowship program.

Dr. Patterson grew up in the College Park/Southwest Atlanta area, not far from the Camp Creek Medical Center where his office is located. His wife, Cristale, is also a native of College Park. Together, they have two young sons. Dr. Patterson intends to provide the most up to date treatments for chronic pain to the Atlanta metropolitan community for many years to come.

A Board-Certified Anesthesiologist since 2005, Dr. Carlos Pulido joined Alliance Spine and Pain Centers in 2012. Dr Pulido attended Universidad Central de Venezuela School of Medicine where he was awarded his medical degree in 1995. He completed initial training in Anesthesiology before moving to the United States in 2000 to start his internship in Surgery followed by his Anesthesiology residency training at University of Connecticut. After obtaining his degree in 2004 Dr. Pulido practiced anesthesiology with special interest in the areas of obstetrical and regional anesthesia as well as acute pain management as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Connecticut. After seven years in private and academic practice, he pursued his interest in chronic pain medicine by completing an accredited fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Pulido has expertise in the treatment of a variety of chronic painful conditions including neck and low back pain, joint pain, headaches, myofascial pain syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, cancer related pain and painful neuropathies utilizing a multimodal therapeutic approach that includes the use of minimally invasive techniques such as epidural steroid injections, selective nerve root blocks, lumbar and cervical radio frequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections and radio frequency ablation, trigger points, peripheral nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, spinal cord stimulation, and vertebral augmentation techniques for the management of compression vertebral fractures.

Dr. Vinaya K. Puppala, is a double board-certified anesthesiology pain specialist. He began his commitment to medicine and scientific research in high school, conducting research for the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Puppala then attended the University of Illinois, graduating with honors in less than twelve months, and earned his medical degree from the nationally top-ranked Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Puppala’s interest in pain medicine as his specialty was sparked subsequent to receipt of a student grant from the National Institute of Health to conduct nerve related research under the mentorship of Chief of Plastic Surgery Dr. Susan MacKinnon. Following medical school, Dr. Puppala returned to Chicago to complete his surgical internship at Rush University Medical Center. He then underwent additional sub-specialization in anesthesiology at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and completed his fellowship. He holds Board Certifications in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Puppala is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists award for best original research with the world’s first report of successful treatment of HIV-related polyneuropathy using spinal cord stimulation. He also received the Illinois Masonic Medical Center award for best resident research in recognition of his efforts to advance the field of pain medicine. Currently, at Alliance Spine and Pain Centers, Dr. Puppala is active with the Medical Association of Georgia and Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Practitioners. He is committed to raising public awareness of issues facing those afflicted with chronic pain at the government level with the goal of improving the lives of his patients outside of the doctor’s office while also minimizing the need for chronic opioid dependence. He also serves as a medical expert witness related to anesthesiology and pain medicine.

Dr. Puppala brings to Alliance Spine and Pain Centers his expertise in the treatment of a variety of chronic painful conditions including: neck and low back pain; intractable neuropathic pain; joint pain; headaches; myofascial pain syndrome; complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS/RSD); chronic abdominal pain; chronic pelvic pain; cancer-related pain; and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with a multi-modal approach. He is exceptionally skilled in treating his patients with compassion, empathy, respect, and concern, and achieves superior pain relief outcomes using a multidisciplinary approach by integrating a variety of minimally invasive interventional techniques, medication management, and functional restoration.

In his free time, he enjoys music and art, stays active in professional networking, volunteers at an animal shelter, and contributes to a variety of philanthropic causes.

Alliance Spine and Pain Centers is pleased to welcome Dr. T. Steven Quach as the newest member to our practice. He comes to us from Emory School of Medicine where he was an Assistant Professor and directed the Fellows/Residents education at the Pain Center. He graduated from medical school at University of Texas, San Antonio, and completed his Anesthesiology residency at the prestigious University of Michigan School of Medicine. Through his quest to gain additional knowledge in sub-specialty of pain management and improve care for chronic pain patients, he went on to complete additional training in the field of Interventional Pain Medicine with a fellowship from the renowned Mayo Clinic. Dr. Quach is Board Certified in both specialties of Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine.

Dr. Quach continually strives to improve quality care in area of Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. While at Emory, he was involved in the education of fellows and residents, teaching reviews for Oral Board in Anesthesiology, and collaborated in clinical research to improve outcomes in the sub-specialty of Interventional Pain Medicine. He is adept at the most up to date technology in Pain Medicine like Radiofrequency Ablations, Cryoneurolysis, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Intrathecal Pump Therapy, Vertebroplasty, and Kyphoplasty. But most importantly, he practices pain medicine with compassion and is firm believers in helping patients gain their quality of life back through multi-disciplinary approach in pain management.

David J. Rosenfeld, M.D. is a 1994 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Rosenfeld completed his training in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation. He also completed advanced Fellowship training in interventional pain medicine and is well-published in both fields of anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Rosenfeld is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. Rosenfeld moved to Atlanta in 2010 after serving as the Chief of Anesthesiology and the Director of the Center for Pain Management at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Previously, Dr. Rosenfeld was in private practice in New Orleans along with serving on the faculty of Tulane University Medical Center. Dr. Rosenfeld enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife and family.

Dr. Shalin Shah is double Board-Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and is a licensed physician in the state of Georgia. He specializes in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. Dr. Shah’s research, education, and commitment to healthy lifestyles have honed his leadership in the pain field.

Dr. Shah is a graduate of the Ohio College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He completed his internship at the Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio, and his Residency at the Medical College of Georgia Medical Center. He was also selected to be a Chief Pain Fellow at the Medical College of Georgia Medical Center.

With an additional Fellowship award, the Research and Scholarly Advancement Fellowship, Dr. Shah conducted research at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also participated in formal research at the Cleveland Clinic.

Prior to joining Alliance Spine and Pain Centers in 2015, Dr. Shah worked as an Attending Anesthesiologist in the Trauma Center while managing Residents at the Georgia Regents University Medical Center in Augusta.

Dr. Shah has held several leadership positions in many of the Associations and Societies of which he is a member: The Georgia Society of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Shah’s hobbies include tennis, personal training, and sports nutrition. He has become an advocate of holistic and preventative medicine, and has a strong passion to lead by example.
